A slightly difference change of pace today. Let me show you how to get cheaper Nintendo Switch games easily.
You may know that the Nintendo Switch is the first console from Nintendo that lets you create accounts across multiple regions. Primarily this is because it is also the first Nintendo console to be region free. For this to work, you do not even need a VPN or DNS
Much like Playstation and Xbox stores, by setting up an account in various regions you can get the following benefits
- Games that are not released in your own region
- Cheaper prices due to currency values / fluctuations
- Demos of games that aren’t available in your own region
Before we go any further, i need to make the following warning. The method we will use here is to create one account per region. It IS possible to use one account across multiple regions but i highly advise you against this. The reason is because if you forget that you have money in your account, which is only valid in the region of purchase, you can lose it at worst, or at best be forced to spend it in one go. You have been warned.
That aside, lets go ahead
Firstly, rather than pick any old old country, lets start by finding a cheap game. I put everything in the table below. Rather than slowing down the site with the price of every country, i have added just the most expensive and the cheapest regions, along with the saving. As you can see, Mexico gets a pretty raw deal most of the time, and Norway, south Africa and Switzerland tend to be cheaper ( at least in terms of Pounds sterling). Norway is a surprise but take what you can!
Here are the list of Nintendo Switch games with he cheapest price and which store it is on. You will be amazed at the difference in prices. For example, Super Streetfighter is £51.97 in Mexico and only £29.44 in South Africa. Thats a 43% saving

Once you have found a game you want to buy, simply go to the Nintendo eShop for the country. I use google to search for it, for example “Nintendo shop South Africa”. You should use a different email address for each store. You can then use google translate to sign up and sign in.
How to pay for the cheaper Nintendo Switch games
Users on reddit and various other places have reported mixed success using local Debit Cards. However, Revolut cards seem to work well, and you should expect a credit card will work too.
You cannot use eShop vouchers from one country to add currency in another.
